Britain’s Got Talent 2022: New look at jaw-dropping auditionees

Amanda Holden looked sensational in a pink latex dress as she was seen on-stage in a first look at this year’s Britain’s Got Talent auditions.

The judge, 51, looked stunning in the Barbie-doll inspired look as she held onto a balloon and greeted what co-judge Alesha Dixon branded a ‘ghost’ on stage.

Alesha previously said: ‘There was an act that came out, didn’t speak, we couldn’t see him, he was invisible, or as Simon thought, was our first ghost! That was shocking. I don’t even know what happened.

Newly released images show this year’s auditionees taking to the stage, and they also include a magician known as the Phantom, clad in a gigantic crow costume, along with the vocalist who sang The Greatest Showman monster hit, Never Enough.

Loren Allred, 32, looks delighted as she prepares to sing for the judges, having already scored a Billboard Hot 100 hit and toured with Andrea Bocelli.

American Loren did not feature in the 2017 Hugh Jackman-helmed film, with actress Rebecca Ferguson miming to her lyrics in the blockbuster.

Young ventriloquist Jamie Leahey, 13, will take to the stage with his puppet, while Titan The Robot will provide a comedy act.

Singing Scotsman Ferdinand Rennie will also take to the stage, while Temple London will show off their martial arts skills.

Britain’s Got Talent will return to screens after two years off the air and a jam-packed teaser trailer saw a Simon Cowell impersonator grace the stage and David Walliams get involved in routines.

The latest series is set to feature magic tricks, a person dressed as a dinosaur, dance troupes and musical performances that are sure to entertain.

Regular judges Simon, David Walliams, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon are back to put the acts through their paces while Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly return as hosts.

A fun-filled teaser trailer was released on Thursday and saw a Simon impersonator takes to the stage wearing a red fringed bodysuit in an act bound to leave the judge gobsmacked.

Elsewhere, David was seen looking squeamish as he took to the stage to assist a circus performer in pulling a heart shaped sword out of his throat.

The comedian, 50, also appeared to strip off on stage, taking off his shirt in front of an elderly woman, in a bizarre moment.

Other acts included a team of skateboarders performing stunts, singers belting their hearts out and gymnasts performing jaw-dropping routines.

The first look trailer comes as Britain’s Got Talent is set to return to screens on April 16 after two years off air.

A follow-up episode will also air the following day at 7.35pm as the auditions will get underway on Easter weekend.

The hit ITV talent show was previously postponed due to safety concerns and the restrictions brought about by tier systems and lockdowns.

Bosses of the show said that despite the efforts of the teams at ITV, Thames and head judge Simon’s Syco, they were forced to call plans off.

At the time they said: ‘With our absolute priority of safeguarding the well-being and health of every person involved in the program from judges, hosts and contestants to all of the crew and audience, the decision has been made to – unfortunately – move the record and broadcast of the 15th series of Britain’s Got Talent to 2022.

‘BGT is known for its diversity of talent with big dance groups, wonderful choirs and lavish orchestras at its heart, and it has become clear that not only is it not possible to film auditions with these types of acts in a secure way but also that they are not able to adequately rehearse and prepare safely.

They finished: ‘Safety has to come first and, as a result, the recording of the show can’t currently go ahead as planned.’

Last month, Amanda revealed that Simon is planning a permanent move back to the UK – and insisted that he isn’t quitting TV.

The Heart Breakfast presenter, 51, says music mogul Simon, 62, who resides between California and London, is ‘aiming to spend more time at home’ now fiancée Lauren Silverman’s son Adam is ‘growing up’ and she’s become an ‘adopted Brit. ‘

In an exclusive interview, Amanda, who sits on the Britain’s Got Talent judging panel alongside close pal Simon, says he’s still ‘hungry’ for success but is keen to enjoy family life as he plans his upcoming wedding to Lauren.

Amanda told MailOnline: ‘He is amazing and him and Lauren are in the best space.

‘We had a lovely family lunch together on Sunday and he’s very, very chilled and knows exactly what he wants from life now – he’s not retiring by any means.

‘He is full of ideas and has some amazing ideas on the back-burner. It is in Simon’s blood, it is terminal, the hunger, the creativity, maybe in the end Simon won’t be on camera but he’s always going to be involved. He just wants to reap some of the things that he’s sown and enjoy life a bit better.

‘They’re going to be aiming to spend some more time in the UK, which is really nice for me.’
