Holly Willoughby broke an important presenting rule as she returned to present This Morning this week week.
The 41 year old re-joined co-host Phillip Schofield on Monday’s episode, and the pair kicked off the week by interviewing Sir Keir Starmer, in what was the Labor Leader’s first in-studio appearance on the show.
During the discussion, Sir Keir spoke about the ongoing parliament “partygate” scandal and addressed the “rank misogyny” thrown at Ashton MP and fellow Labor leader Angela Rayner in a story published over the weekend, before This Morning cut to an advertisement break.
As the daytime program returned minutes later, Holly was seen missing her cue awkwardly whilst sat at the show’s breakfast table, instead staring at the camera in silence before saying: “And welcome back.”

The TV host quickly collapsed in fits of laughter as she realized the mistake she’d made while Phillip, 60, appeared to find the presenting blunder just as funny.
“I was actually just watching us on the monitor,” the 41-year-old confessed.
“Then I was like ‘oh my god I’m watching and we’re actually on.”
“You can’t watch the TV if you’re on it!” Phillip responded jokingly, as Holly replied: “I know, rule number one of the presenting hand-book, I’m sorry”.
Looking back to the audience in puzzlement, Phillip said: “Wow”, as his embarrassed co-host, clearly ready to move on from the presenting mishap, hilariously added: “Happy Monday!”
Holly’s on-air blunder came as she criticized Piers Morgan during a discussion of of his interview with former president Donald Trump, which aired on the TalkTV channel last night.
A promotional clip promised the explosive interview would include a confrontation between both men – as well as them bonding over their thoughts on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Addressing their well-documented negative opinions on the former senior Royals, Holly said: “[Donald]’s never [been] a fan of Meghan, has he?
“Right from the get-go he’s been quite opinionated. He seems to blame her for all of it.”
“He’s talking to Piers Morgan who isn’t a fan of Meghan either,” said guest Camilla Tominey, before Holly added: “Not much balance in that chat.”
Piers infamously walked out of Good Morning Britain last March after an argument with Alex Beresford, which had been sparked by comments Piers made about Harry and Meghan.
